Whether we are in hope or in despair, singing can transform the energy in our bodies, rippling outward to shift the energy in the collective.
Private Sessions
SINGING AND MUSIC ARE INHERENT IN ALL OF US. TAP INTO THE MAGIC!
I have been teaching private music lessons for 20 years. My style is warm, student-centered, trauma-informed, and custom-tailored to meet your needs, goals and dreams. I serve as guide and teacher, with an intention to move at the speed of trust, exploring the instrument that is your voice and body. Our work can include:
- Using voice as a tool for nervous system support
- Healthy singing technique
- Finding a sound that is authentically YOU!
- Repertoire and artistry development
- Healing wounds of not-enoughness
- Improvising to liberate the voice and body
- Songwriting as a tool for expression and affirmation
- Musicians/keyboard/composition skills
What People Are Saying
Queer Choir
Voice, body, interdependence + queer joy as resistance to tyranny.
Queer Choir is an intergenerational and re-humanizing community choir for queer, trans and gender-expansive humans, singing for radical joy, queer kinship and collective liberation. Queer Choir makes space for queers of all backgrounds to reclaim and rejoice in their body as instrument while leaning into the magic of harmony-singing as interdependence. There is no audition for Queer Choir, and we do not use SATB voicing.
Emergent Song
Each Emergent Song session is a space of aliveness, creative risk, and co-regulated resonance. We root in our bodies, tune to the moment, and co-create music none of us could make alone. Together we explore form and freedom—sometimes marrying improvised movement with voice —sounding from center, from edges, from in-between. Bringing warmth, grace and humor, elias also incorporates Vocal River forms taught to them by their mentor, master improvisation teacher Rhiannon (Alive! Bobby McFerrin, Gimme 5).
